Join BYO

The Billings Youth Orchestra was established in September 2006 to improve the range and quality of orchestral and chorale opportunities for Billings’ youth. It is a privately funded, non-profit organization, modeled after similar youth orchestras found across the U.S. The program is open by audition to all area students, from preschool to college, including home schooled students and students from outlying rural schools. Join today for a high-level experience that enhances a musical education for all students.

Support BYO

The Billings Youth Orchestra and is a magnet for the best young musicians in our region. Considering the talent and dedication of these musicians and their conductors, as well as the enthusiastic support of our community, the BYO has become a source of civic pride for Billings, and a core cultural institution for youth in this part of Montana. To sustain a high-quality program, while keeping tuition low, we rely on generous financial support from our community. This includes grants, corporate sponsorships, and private donations. BYO remains fiscally responsible, as over 100% of our funds are spent directly on accomplishing our mission.

Billings Youth Orchestra is a 501(c)(3)

The Billings Youth Orchestra is comprised of four orchestras, tailored for a broad range of abilities from very young beginners to advanced high school and college students. As BYO members improve their skills, they advance from one group to the next. At the highest level, we strive to prepare students for college level and professional orchestras, such as the Billings Symphony.
